Our gold coast board and train service is perfect for supercharging your dog's training progress under the guidance of our expert trainers. Your dog will receive several training sessions per day while staying with our friends at AAA Pet Resort Mudgeeraba.

While you're on holiday your dog can learn a brand new fun or useful behaviour, polish up existing skills, or make solid progress on behavioural modification.

Which dogs are suitable for Board & Train?

This service is beneficial for dogs of various ages and breeds, so long as they are relatively comfortable in a new environment. Board & Train on its own isn't designed to "fix" behavioural issues, but instead to help your dog make a big leap forward with their behavioural modification and build momentum that you can continue at home.

At the end of your dog's stay, we will provide you with the information you need to continue the training, and all Board & Train clients receive lifetime phone and email support. Programs of two weeks or more will receive a free private lesson as part of your package.

We very strongly recommend continuing with either group classes or private training after your dog has finished their Board & Train program. While Board & Train allows us to make fantastic progress, dogs are very contextual and it's very important that we train with YOU as well as your dog to ensure lasting results.

Which dogs are not suitable for Board & Train?

This service isn't suitable for dogs who are human reactive, or dogs with behavioural problems specific to the home environment; we recommend private in home training for these issues instead.

This service is also not appropriate for dogs with separation anxiety, as helping this issue requires the dog's person to be part of all the training stages.

Additionally, Board & Train is not suitable if you are unable to continue your dog's training after they have completed their program; our goal is to significantly jump start your training rather than to provide a quick fix

Our Board & Train program is available in blocks of four days - Monday to Thursday. Your dog must be booked with AAA Pet Resort for at least one Monday to Thursday block in order to participate in the Board & Train program. We do not currently offer Board & Train services on Fridays or weekends.

With the exception of very simple behaviours, we generally dedicate one four day block to the progression of one skill. This allows us to make the most of our time with your dog and progress the chosen skill significantly, rather than splitting our focus for subpar results.

Additional Costs

Boarding: Our price does not include the cost of your stay with AAA Pet Resort, you will need to book with them directly. Prices start at $45 per day for twin share and $55 for a private room.

Handover Session: The cost for a one hour in home handover session is $190, or FREE if your dog is staying for two or more blocks. Though strongly recommended, a handover session is not always required; we provide written materials with instructions for continuing the training. If you will be continuing your training with group classes or private lessons you can usually forgo the handover session.

Your dog must also meet all of AAA Pet Resort's requirements for boarding, such as having their C5 vaccination.
